Goten and Gokuu
Gokuu and Goten look and act
so much alike that I've had heaps of people emailing in to ask me to distinguish
the two. So anyway, here's a section in which I'll try to help.
I'll start with a description
of Goten, to compare with the others.
 
Goten has two different outfits,
and rarely wears anything else. The first (right), is a gi made to look
like Gokuu's. It has long blue sleeves, a black belt, black shoes and blue,
ankle hight sort of pull up socks.
His second out fit (left)
is the first one we see him in. It has light purple sleeves and trousers,
with white turned up sleeves and a white belt. The blue coat goes over
the top, with yellow trimmings and two ties.
His skin colour is a light
tan. Goten never has a tail at any point in the series.
Goten and young Gokuu
 
The first thing to look for is
the tail or nyoi-bo, as well as the kanji character 'kame' on Gokuu's shirt.
His clothes are usually more reddish in colour. He has wristbands rather
than sleeves, and often has no blue undershirt. Chibi Gokuu's clothes often
vary in colour, anything from a purple gi to white and blue. The style
of drawing from when chibi Gokuu was around was different, usually simpler
with more rounded eyes. His skin is a little darker than Goten's.
Goten and adult Gokuu
 
The size difference is obvious,
but hey, I still find images of Super Deformed Gokuu (above right)in Goten
galleries everywhere. Goten's clothes are a variation of Gokuu's at this
age, so their clothes look the most similar in the Buu saga. Gokuu has
a blue *short* sleeved undershirt, with blue wristbands. His belt is dark
blue, and he has dark blue boots which are tied around the middle. In the
earlier series, his clothes has the kanji symbol 'Go' or 'Kame' on the
front and later on, the kanji for 'Kaio' on the back. His belt changed
from being a simple tied one to a tucked in sort of thing around the Cell
saga.
Goten and GT Gokuu
GT Gokuu's clothes are very different
to chibi Goten's. Gokuu wears pink wrist bands, has a blue shirt, white
belt and yellow/orange pants. He spends half the time with a tail once
again. GT Gokuu's skin colour is a lot darker than chibi Goten's, and the
art style has changed again. Pupils are larger and he's also a little shorter
(Goten's height varies a little in the earlier series while the animators
are getting used to drawing him.)
Goten and Gokuu Jr
Gokuu Jr is also very easy to
tell apart from the others. He wears a blueish-purple shirt with a light
blue t-shirt underneath. He has pink wrist bands like Gokuu's and spends
half the time wearing a red headband. Pupils are larger than Goten's and
once again, darker than Goten's. Easily distunguished by the amount of
time he spends running away from things.
